Powell's Books is a local Portland, Oregon bookstore and also the largest independent bookstore in the world. Be sure to check out the Powell's Staff Picks. Gumball Poetry also has a Gumball Poetry Machine in their Hawthorne store. Incidentally, they recently unionized.

Amazon.com has gotten extremely big as of late, most likely you've heard of them. While they don't exclusively focus on books anymore, their book section is rich with information and reviews and their website is easily navigable. See their Literature & Fiction section.
